Shorenet Place Partner
Friends of Fundy and the Fundy Partnership are proud to be a Shorenet Place Partner, part of a national network connecting places from shore to shore to shore. Shorenet brings together communities, organizations, businesses, and leaders who are working to strengthen local economies through place-based development.
Through our partnership with the Shorefast Institute, we collaborate with communities across Canada to share ideas, build capacity, and explore innovative approaches that help places thrive while preserving the unique characteristics that make them special.

Cultural & Heritage Education
Through the Molly Kool Heritage Centre in Alma, honouring the stories and people who have shaped this coastline and region; from Indigenous knowledge keepers and rights holders to maritime pioneers.
Habitat Enhancement and Community Stewardship
A regional initiative to enhance biodiversity, strengthen ecosystem resilience, and build community stewardship through hands-on conservation action and education.
Friends of Fundy Retail Outlets
Friends of Fundy operates a network of social-enterprise retail outlets, the Outpost Gift Shops, in Fundy National Park and Alma. The shops prioritize locally produced goods, Indigenous cultural sharing, and sustainability, generating market access for small local producers. All profits are reinvested in regional development and stewardship efforts.
Economic Nutrition Certification
Friends of Fundy and the Fundy Partnership is helping bring the Shorefast Institute's Economic Nutrition Certification Program to businesses and organizations throughout the Fundy Coast and Fundy Foothills region.
Where Does The Money Go?
What Does It Pay For?
Why Does It Matter?
Inspired by food nutrition labels, Economic Nutrition helps people understand where their money goes and how it impacts local communities. The Economic Nutrition Certification Mark provides transparent information about how spending supports local jobs, businesses, and community wellbeing.
Organizations interested in participating in future certification cohorts can learn more about the program and connect with the Economic Nutrition Certification team to explore opportunities for involvement.
Community Celebrations
Such as Rising Tide Trails & Tunes and February Frolic, which animate small community spaces year-round and strengthen local business collaboration with volunteers and community organizations.
Regional Trail Development
We work alongside local community partners to ensure that trail development in our region:
-
enhances the quality of life and community wellbeing,
-
supports environmental stewardship and sustainable development
-
creates the conditions for economic diversification and local business growth.
