The Fundy Region Ambassador Coordinator will play a key role in connecting people, stories, and experiences across the Fundy region. This position will lead the design and delivery of the Fundy Region Ambassador Program, engaging local residents, business operators, and community organizations as champions of regenerative tourism, stewardship, and cultural pride. This role blends community engagement, training coordination, and regional storytelling, helping ambassadors share the values and vision of the Fundy Partnership with visitors and residents alike.



Key Responsibilities


Program Development & Coordination

  • Implement the Fundy Region Ambassador Program, including recruitment, training, and ongoing engagement of ambassadors.

  • Design and deliver orientation materials and workshops focused on regenerative tourism principles, local history, culture, and environmental stewardship.

  • Coordinate ambassador-led events, tours, and outreach activities in collaboration with community partners, Parks Canada, and local businesses.

  • Work closely with the Fundy Partnership team to align ambassador activities with the Regional Destination Development and Stewardship Strategy.

  • Build relationships with municipal partners, business operators, cultural organizations, and Indigenous communities to ensure local stories and perspectives are shared authentically.

  • Support community festivals and regional events such as Rising Tide Trails & Tunes, February Frolic, and other initiatives that animate local spaces.

  • Act as a point of contact for ambassadors and community participants, providing mentorship and fostering collaboration.

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Track participation, engagement outcomes, and feedback to assess program impact.

  • Prepare progress reports, metrics, and success stories for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the ambassador program and broader partnership initiatives.

Communications & Outreach

  • Develop outreach materials, ambassador resources, and social media content to celebrate local stories and promote stewardship messaging.

  • Support Friends of Fundy's communication efforts by highlighting ambassador activities and success stories.

  • Represent Friends of Fundy and the Fundy Partnership at community events, conferences, and regional meetings.


Qualifications and Skills


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills; comfortable engaging diverse community partners.

  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Confident public speaker and storyteller who can communicate across audiences.

  • Creative problem-solver with a collaborative mindset.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and social media communication tools; experience with Canva or similar platforms an asset.

  • Bilingualism (English/French) preferred; knowledge of Mi'kmaw language or local cultural protocols considered an asset.

Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in tourism, community development, education, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in community engagement, volunteer coordination, event management, or tourism development.

  • Knowledge of the Fundy region's culture, geography, and environmental priorities considered an asset.


Work Environment & Compensation


  • This is a full-time position (35 hours/week), with flexible scheduling and occasional evening/weekend work for community events.

  • Hybrid work arrangements may be possible, though regional travel within the Fundy Coast and Foothills area will be required.

  • Compensation commensurate with experience; benefits and professional development opportunities available.
